About David R. Tawil, Esq.

A member of the firm, David has spent his entire practice concentrating exclusively in the field of Matrimonial and Family Law since his admission to the Bar in 2002. During this time, David has worked in all aspects of divorce and matrimonial law, including interstate and international custody matters, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence, civil unions and domestic partnerships, complex financial disputes and business valuations, as well as all aspects of post-judgment applications and modifications.

Prior to joining the firm in 2003, David spent a year as the Law Clerk for the Honorable Thomas P. Zampino, J.S.C., of the Essex County Superior Court, Chancery Division, Family Part. He has been selected as a Rising Star in the field of Family Law by the New Jersey Super Lawyers publication in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and is a Master of the Barry Croland Family Law Inn of Court.

David is a co-author of the Domestic Violence Chapter in the 14th and soon to be published 15th editions of the New Jersey Family Law Practice, a matrimonial and family law treatise, and has co-authored several articles published in conjunction with family law issues for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He has lectured on various topics relating to divorce and matrimonial law, including equitable distribution, spousal and child support, custody and domestic violence. 

David is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Family Law Section, and a former member of the Young Lawyer's Division Executive Subcommittee.  He volunteers his time as a panelist for the Morris County Early Settlement Panel program as well as for the Essex County Courts.
